TEXAS DUCK HUNTING, AIRBOAT TRIPS

Welcome to the home of the best Texas duck and goose hunting guides on the Texas coast. We rely heavily on airboats to access remote areas where the duck hunting is best.  We like to say "if you are sweating while duck hunting on the Texas Coast, you're doing it all wrong".  Texas Duck Hunting is unique and Coastal Waterfowl has become the destination for the discriminating duck and goose hunting enthusiast seeking world class "old school" waterfowl hunting. If Texas Geese are what you are after, we’ve got thousands of acres on the coastal prairies wintering Snow, Blue, Ross, Specklebelly, and Canadian geese. Check out, Duck Hunting Mexico!  Coastal Waterfowl is a subsidiary of Castaway Lodge, Inc.

"Old School" means "in keeping with the best traditions of waterfowl hunting and Texas duck hunting". It means our philosophy centers around a personalized experience; low density blinds and un-cramped conditions; working birds with the calling and artistry of our professional guides; close-in shooting; professional retriever work; and, ethical, law abiding hunting. The term embodies the "heart of a waterfowler" and the drive to do the work it takes to get it right!

TROUT & REDFISH

Capt. Kris Kelley and Team Coastal offers a full range of fishing guide services. We welcome anglers of any skill level to Seadrift fishing here on the middle coast. Located in the Seadrift and Port O'Connor, area, Redfish and a big fight go hand in hand along with the best Trout fishing.

ADD YOUR COMMENTS BELOW, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Double K, thank you for the kind note. It has been a rough couple of weeks, but we are all hanging tough. Unfortanely, you don't always realize how important those memories are until they're all you've got. Thanks to you, my Dad started fishing again and we were able to enjoy a ton of great times with Grizwald. He loved and cherished the time we spent with you and Wendy, especially at the lodge. And for that, we will always be grateful. Nobody was expecting him to go so soon. I wanted to share this with you, as I was putting together pictures we had of him for the memorial service, 60% of the good ones were from our trips with you. Tim, Joey and I hope to get down and fish with you sometme this summer. Take care,

Matt

We had a wonderful weekend with the Scott boys getting limits on both Red Fish and Dove. Ms. Wendi’s cookin was worth the trip as well.

Man what a day! The only problem was it was over too fast. Thank you both for your kindness and all your help. All the time I spend with sons is great but to spend it with good people also, makes it priceless. Have a great day!

I can't tell you how much the guys enjoyed the Norm Invitational.
The wind kicked our ass, but we did catch some fish. You have the best guides. I believe Steve would have stayed out all day if we
wanted him to. I am so glad my brother got to fish with you. This was his first trip and you guys caught some nice fish. You always make us feel right at home at the lodge and I think I gained a pound or two from the Smoked Ribs that were out of this world.
Looking forward to the next trip and guitar picking.

Kris,

Thank you for calling to check on us. Eric was home by about 10PM last night and I made it home about 1PM today. It was well worth the 600 miles each way to get to fish with you. We had a wonderful time - the fishing was great, the accommodations were excellent, and the food was outstanding. No doubt, we'll be looking to come back soon.

Thanks Again,

Mel

Kris, thanks again, Mark and Trish had a blast, just being on the water. James did a great job not just with the fish, laughing and joking, and of course giving me a hard time for missing fish. He made the trip really enjoyable for everyone. You’ve got a great business going for you and Wendi along with your family of Guides. Hope to see you soon, I know Mark and Trish will be return customers.

We have not quit reliving the day that we spent with you today. There is no way to tell you how much fun we had making memories with you. The coaching and fishing were not to be beat! You are the best and we can't wait to come back soon and share another beautiful day fishing with you again soon. Thanks for giving us such a special day! Your guy T-Man sends his best!

Kris,
Wanted to share with everyone the great memories you provided. It was a mom and daughter weekend to remember. Thank you for all the fun, great food, experience and most of all your amazing patience. I don't know how you drew the short straw to have two women, but you gave us an amazing experience.

I have hunted the Louisiana coast my whole life and I am always the one that runs the trolling motor and nets the fish and does the duck calling when I hunt or fish. I just want to say even if you have your own place you really owe it to yourself to come down and spend some time with Ms. Wendi and Double K; from the most experienced to the newby YOU WILL ENJOY your stay; period. P.S. bring you appetite and yes Kris we will see you next year. Why not let them take care of everything and they love doing it believe me it really shows. Thanks James for more great memories with my dad.

Dear Kris & Wendi:

Trent and I had a blast on the GATOR hunt. An 11' 400 lb gator is nothing to sniff at and I know we'll be happy with the mount and skin. You run a first rate outfit. I enjoyed the fellowship and the fine chow. Tell Jake & Jack they need their own reality TV show. Jake is a whopper of a man & Jack has a lot of huevos to stick his hands so close to the gators choppers.

The Drum & Red fish never made it to the freezer. Best fish I've ever eating and less than 8 hours from sea to the bread basket.

Kris,

Kenny and I made it home safe (last time I drive that far, put me on a plane). Once again, I had a great time. The hunting was awesome! You cant ask for anything more, when a 'slow day' means it takes an extra half hour to limit out. Wendi's cooking sure hit the spot after a day on the water. The new lodge provides a nice friendly, comfortable atmosphere. I may not of said it when I was there but, thanks for getting us on those hogs, it is appreciated.

Had to leave Trinity to stomp on some new ground, My son Sterling, his buddy Willie and I fished Saturday and Sunday out of Seadrift with Castaway Lodge. Our guide Steve worked his tail off looking for fish both days but the front that blew in Saturday really effected the bite. Saturday we managed to catch about 25 small trout maybe three keepers, Sunday we went to find reds and we managed to find them with several over the slot, but these fish were really not eating and had to be really be worked over to get a hit. Color really did not seem to matter we took fish on just about any color lure we threw but never got enough bites to set a pattern. All in all it was a good trip and i would do it again.

Two friends and I headed down to Seadrift to take advantage of the February Special at the Castaway Lodge. The Lodge did not disappoint. The food and the lodging was great as was the fishing. We landed 9 reds between the three of us even though the conditions were far from perfect. Headed back to the lodge for a nice send off meal. If you get a chance I highly recommend Kris and Wendi Kelly and the Castaway Lodge.

Kris,

Thanks for a great day on the water! Good weather, good fish and good company.... it doesn't get any better. You do a fantastic job. I hope to meet up with you again sometime soon.

To everyone at Castaway Lodge,

I just wanted to thank you, James, Steve and Wendi for the best trip any of us have ever had. I knew it was going to be great but the effort all you put forth made it awesome. Getting to shoot Redheads would have been enough in itself (which I greatly appreciate) but getting 2 Canvasbacks and limits every day was icing on the cake. I can guarantee as long as I am breathing we will be back next year and the year after that and the year after that. I know its not easy doing what you do and I greatly appreciate all the hard work that you and everyone else did to make our time there one to remember for years to come. Again thanks so much, tell everyone hello and I will be calling at the beginning of next year to book another weekend.

On another note we thought traveling there was bad, it didn't hold a candle to traveling back. We got delayed until 8:45pm in Victoria, missed our connecting flight in Houston finally got to a hotel at 12am, got up the next morning at 4:30am to catch our 7:20 am flight back to Raleigh. Luckily our bags made back though. With all of that once it was over it didn't even put a blemish on the whole experience. This is because the time there and the hunts were that good. You got a great bunch of Guides, an awesome lodge, fantastic hunting and some seriously good food. I can't wait till next year and just wanted to let you know that what you do is appreciated. Be safe, tell everyone hello and save us some ducks for next year.

I know you all will, but don't work too hard.

KK and Wendi -

We received your E- mail about the Great Thanksgiving Blast and we can’t stop thinking about what an over the top time it was for all of us! We find ourselves daydreaming about “nothing but ducks dragging toe-nails”, Wendi’s incredible cooking, your great hospitality, and great conversation, and laughing about our lucky Hail Mary shots and, of course, the easy ones we missed – and most of all, wishing we were back “home” there again already.
Wendi, you are incredible! KK, it’s amazing how you always go the extra mile and are able to get us on some terrific hunting. Please pass on to James and Jake, our thanks for the great fishing experience and for a job well done on the ducks and geese– and for plenty of good laughs with them too!

Thank you for more than everything for allowing us to be a special part of your family, hanging out with you guys in the Lodge, and enjoying another great Thanksgiving Blast and Throw Down!
For now, we’ll have to be happy with visions dancing in our heads of turkey and dressing and all the fix-ins…awesome duck hors d’oeuvres…fantastic fried shrimp and trout and crab cakes…fabulous steaks and pork chops on the Barby…baked potatoes loaded to the gills…our choice of every kind of incredible pie…….and of course, how can we forget all those “locked up” teal and gadwalls and pintails and snows and specs!
Thanks again for such a great time! Our blessings to you and yours for a continued outstanding level of business this year and for a fantastic Christmas!

Kris,

Thanks for a great weekend with you and Wendi. It's a toss-up as to which was better, the fishing or the food! Terry & I will be back with our wives soon. I'm still distressed about the 38 incher that got away! Thanks again and look forward to seeing you soon.
